She has won a new title: her 15th WOC gold in total and the first WOC gold as a mother.
I'm so happy. It was such a good race. It was perfect, was Simone's summary of the race just after she had finished. The Swiss star said she had an incredible run in the forest. – It was so nice out there, and it's the nicest forest I have been in during this WOC. Especially around the start it was very nice, says Simone.
On 3rd September last year the Swiss star became mother to Malin, and she hasn't been so sure about her standard of orienteering. – I have also had injury problems, and I haven't been so sure that I could come back at a high level. – Now it looks as though you are back at the level you were before you became a mother? – Yes, she smiles. |
