The data required for the World Ranking Scheme is quite simple.
For each race, we need to have:
Then for each athlete who started, we need to know:
Results must be submitted by eMail attachment(s) to wr_results@6prog.org. Please only send finalised results.
The file format can be very simple. Here is an example text file. It could alternatively be an Excel spreadsheet. Either of these two formats is our preferred format. But, provided that ALL the information described above is provided, we will attempt to accept any format, although we do reserve the right to ask you to re-format the results if we cannot understand what you send.
The only information that is not straightforward to obtain is the Ranking List Identifier / Nationality. The athletes should be able to give you this information on the entry form. If you intend using commercial event software or electronic punching software, we suggest you enter these references when you are taking entries. It will then be easy to extract the information with the results.
We are not interested in athletes who didn't start.
The ranking list identifiers can be obtained from the current list.
Please only use
identifiers from this list.
We will allocate new identifiers for the unlisted
athletes after each race.
The Nationality should be the International Olympic Committee three
letter code for the athlete's home federation.
You can find these codes by selecting relevant continent(s) on the
IOC NATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEES web page.
Placings may have '=' signs when appropriate.
It will be very helpful if the athlete's name is spelt correctly,
complete with all accents and diacritic marks if you know how to enter them.
Please try to get the parts of the name in the right column. We know this may be difficult.
Each part of the name can be up to 25 characters long.
If the athlete has no ranking identifier, the name provided here is the
version that will be used on the ranking list.
If the athlete is already
ranked in the scheme, the name must closely match that already held for the
given identifier.
The run time can be separated by colon (:), dash (-), comma (,), or
period (.).
We would prefer minutes and seconds, but if you can only
supply hours, minutes and seconds, we will do the conversion.
Where relevant,
Sprint races should also include the 1/10ths of second.
If the run time
contains anything other than numbers and these separators, it will be assumed
that the athlete retired or was disqualified. (It does not matter which -
they will get listed with 0 points)
Extra information such as club names, start number, start time, eCard
number, race distance, climb or controls, and split times may appear in the
data you send us.
Providing it is obvious what it is, then it will be
ignored. We would however prefer you to have removed unneeded information
before submitting results.
We understand:
| Disqualified / Mispunched | Retired / Over Time | Did Not Start |
| dsq disq dq keskeytti kesk po.f. p.fehl. fehlst mp pm error en tarj. n tarj. diskva p.p. ej godk. hiba |
dnf hylätty hyl aufgeg. not classified ncl NP N Ang retd. nest. nestar soshel utgatt avbrutit |
dns ei läht. no sale RI Non. abs ej start ei start Återbud |
Please ask if you need any further explanation. It would help if any difficulties were sorted out before the event, so that posting ranking points can happen quickly after the event.
